The Ground Feels Strange Here

This was a piece I did for a contest. It did not win so I scrapped it. Forgot I had saved it to an external drive. Glad I did. I don't think it's a bad piece, just maybe not quite what the judges were looking for.


I'm so tired of zomnies always being the bad gu.... zomnies? XD Lol, that's a goofy typo. Maybe people who voted for Romney? Zomnies for Romney! Zomnie 2016! Or how about no. I might be slightly demented. Anyway, I'm tired of zomnies.... ZOMBIES! JEEZE! There is something wrong with me today. XD Well, there's pretty much something wrong with me every day but today especially. ZOMBIES! ZOMBIES! ZOMBIES! GRAH! Oh great, now zombies are probably going to come pouring out of my bathroom mirror. What was I saying? Shit, I forgot my damn point. XD Boy, I am James Joyceing the fuck out of this shit today. Most of you probably don't know who James Joyce is. You're better off not knowing. DO NOT Google it. Trust me. Stream of consciousness is the ultimate evil. It's even worse than zomnies.

I'm tired of zombies always being the bad guys but what if they were the good guys? I'm sure I'm not the only one to come up with this idea (Warm Bodies? Mummies Alive? Although.... are living mummies necessarily zombies? Uh oh, I've offended the mummy community, now I'm in trouble.) but you just don't see good zomnies... ok, fuck it, they are zomnies from now on. I am officially renaming zombies "zomnies." This is like the twentieth time I've typed zomnies instead of zomnies. ZOMBIES. OH MY GOD. XD Maybe I need to go back to bed. Jesus Christ.

ANYWAY! What I am trying and failing miserably to convey is the idea that perhaps the UNDEAD (Ha!) aren't always these "I want to eat your brains" brainless bad guys. I find that to be terribly overplayed. I think something can still be scary.... maybe even scarier when it isn't reaching for your face and screeching cliche onomatopoeias (of course I would spell onomatopoeias right on the first go, some malevolent force is mocking me today, I swear).
