A Pair of Dragons by BJPentecost A Pair of Dragons by BJPentecost
This was something I started back when I was setting up my new computer. It was just supposed to be a little doodle to ensure that my Photoshop was working and the computer performed adequately. Somehow it became this. Probably took about 45 hours. It should have taken me half that but it's starting to get really difficult to paint. I can't focus on details. Sharp lines and letters seem to vibrate or something. Five specialists, several of which I have been to multiple times, none of them know what's wrong with me. They all have something different and equally fucktarded to say. I swear, doctors in Florida must scoop their medical degrees out of cereal boxes. When the hell is it ok for a doctor to say "you have a neurological disorder" but then not give an actual diagnosis, not order any tests, and not ask for follow ups? I mean, it's like "oh, you have a debilitating disorder that may alter the rest of your life." *Wanders away to water the plants.* Fucking asshole.

I'm hoping my new glasses will work out but I'm not holding my breath. It's been a full day and I still can't focus. I still can't paint and reading is a nightmare. Even typing this has taken me 15 minutes longer than it should have.

This looks awesome! Love your lighting as always! The horns look AMAZING as well as the scales! Did that take forever? My story has been coming along. I am working on the treatment currently and my character designs so I can show it to the agent. I finished the whole outline but it needs a few edits. I hope you are doing well! We should catch up soon!

I'll be in Florida for a week, we are leaving tomorrow. But When we get back we should make time! We got ourselves a printer/cutter for t-shirt transfers and messenger bags of designs! I am trying to start a business with my art for consistent cashflow while I work on the bigger long-term project of my graphic novel, since it wont make money until its finished lol. Do you have a FB? Our art page is Shottsy Arts if you want to like on it!

Rembrandt would have been proud of that lighting!
Even among your ordinary (=out of this world) artwork this really strikes out. It is not just the intense hot glow of the horns but also the wonderfully balanced composition of cold and warm tones that catches the eye. (Not to forget the intense green stare(s) composed right at the border of heat and cold.)

Really sorry to read about your eyesight. Please give yourself (and your eyes) some rest, too. Young bodies recover very well from most harms life brings to us. Sometimes you might need a doctor to help a little...

All the best for you.

Perhaps you should try something different than doctors - maybe this is all stress related? Going to doctors would really make that mess worse if they never had anything to help you lol.

I'm not real up to date, dunno what the situation is, but it sounds awful and I hope you get better soon :(.

Know how you feel, I have chronic headaches for over a year now which no one can explain, the trick is to not let it stop you from doing anything, even if it'll take you more time :)

I'm no doctor but at what time do you give your eyes a rest or do you just paint hours on end nonstop. You might want to give your eye's a break once in a while perhaps with or without a warm or a cold compress.

I'm assuming that, since you're getting new glasses, you've been to an optometrist:  What did s/he have to say about your eyes?  Anything particularly unusual to be found there?

The guy said I had a neurological problem but then proceeded to not order any tests, not refer me out to a specialist, and not ask for follow ups. O__O As soon as I get my new insurance, I'm going to see a neuro-opthamologist.

He probably figured "not something I work on, you're on your own."  Some doctors are dicks like that.  How long before your new insurance kicks in?

Thanks. I'm going to see a neuro-opthamologist. It's going to be majorly expensive, even with insurance but I need to be able to see to do my art. It's my reason for existing. XC Hopefully this issue will be fixable.

Me: "That is the weirdest looking pet I have ever seen."

Snake creature: "I'll say, and feeding him is a pain.  But he makes the cutest sound when you scratch him behind the ears."

I'm sorry for your troubles. An artist having trouble with their eyes is easily one of the saddest things I can imagine.
The only thing I can think of to help is to look out a window (or go outside) and try to focus on something really far away, like reading a far-off sign.
A doctor once told me that could help my eyes ( I play a lot of video games).
I wish you the best of luck!

Actually, given the way Red is possessively holding BlueEyes' shoulder, I was thinking they're together.

Great art, but you've got to find a good doc, keep going until you find someone who will do what's needed. Often in neurology, it's difficult to get a straight up answer or diagnosis, but make sure they are screening you for everything it's not. You said specialists, so I'm assuming you've been to see a neuro-ophthalmologist?

I've only been to see regular eyedoctors. None of them have referred me to a neurologist. You'd think they might, especially the one who came right out and said "you have a neurological problem." :\ Ooooooh, Florida.

I hear you, but sounds like you need to go back to the one that suspected it's neurological and have them refer you to a specialist in neuro-ophthalmology. I googled it, there are some in Florida. Not only does it sound like a major problem on it's own, but it could be an indicator of underlying problems, so be persistent, get them to take you seriously. I'm a whimp when it comes to doctors, but you have to really put your foot down. Good luck.
